ESL Reading Exercises - Teaching ESL Children

Strivney offers over 1,000 free, animated, online, interactive ESL reading exercises and  is an excellent resource for teaching ESL children to read.   Stage A teaches letter sounds and introduces 82 words see  Learning English Vocabulary Stage A.  The ESL reading exercises in Stage B teach common sound combinations (oo, ee, ch, th, etc.) and introduce over 100 words see  Stage B Elementary Vocabulary . Each new word is described using a clear pictoral animation.  Stage C teaches first grammar and punctuation and  Stages D and E teach the order of the English alphabet and  the numbers 1 to 10.
